Ania!
I think the main issue with Poland is the way in which the people, their mentatlity and also the way they behave tends to dissapoint when compared to other countries. And I do like Poland, although I suppose just like with any country, there are the good parts and there are also certain aspects that don't impress. I think in terms of development Poland tends to lag behind a little when compared to Western European countries but because we are sort of in the middle - between the west and the east there is a mix. It is easy to look past that though and if you immerse yourself in a nice area and know where to go you don't always have to experience the worse parts of Poland. A lot of it is very lovely, and it has such a rich history that is preserved very well. In the end I think the main reason why a lot of countries don't like Poland is because of the people. It is hard to find a genuinely smiling face and open and naturally friendly people are hard to come by. It is much easier when you surround yourself with a group of family and friends that are different, but overall the general public isn't very open towards stranges. Everyone sort of minds their own business and although a lot of people are taught to say 'thank you' I sometimes feel like they don't really mean it. It's not like that with everyone though and once again it truly depends on the people you know and where you live. Although vulgar, rude and obnoxious poles are easy to come by in Poland and also around the world, I wish it did not reflect on the whole country but it does, and I think that this is the main reason why a lot of people have a poor opinion about Poland. If you come across one rude person from a given country it will reflect on the whole nation, and even though many of us are cultured and respectful, a large amount of Poles still have a lot to learn. -

because we are rude and we have lots of inadequrate behaviours. Everywhere where I look I see betraying people. When we're abroad we still think like Pole, verry rarely the situation is reverse so Poland- polish thinking, abroad - thinking as local inhabitants. -

first of all : stereotype. But, not only they are guilty. We are too, oh maybe not we, but our mentality. When we go abroad we don't abide by low of countries that we visit... When somebody comes to us, we don't even try to help him. And it's normal that disadvantages upstage advantages.
P.S oh and we drink too much, and we don't have respect for goverment, so why other countries should have? If we want them to like us, we just have to started change our minds. -

who said people from other countries hate polish
egyptians love polish people :D -

It's not true that polish people are hated around the world. Actually another thing seems to be true. I mean polish people cant stand any criticism and consider it hatred, offensive and by definition unjustified.
If somebody e.g. in USA says "most of polish male people are often drunk", it doesnt mean they hate us it just mean they are right. -
aleks
true that ^
Where I live, everyone calls me "My Polish best friend" or "MY POLAKKK" haha
